Looking down at the lights and shadows of the ridges of the landscape at Zabriskie Point, Death Valley, California. Zabriskie Point is a section of Death Valley National Park (in the United States) noted for its strikingly beautiful erosional landscape. The terrain is referred to as badlands because it is very difficult to grow plants there. It is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago — long before Death Valley came into existence. The landscape is in danger of being eroded away due to a nearby diversion of a water The name Zabriskie comes from Christian Brevoort Zabriskie, who in the early 20th century was the vice-president and general manager of the Pacific Coast Borax Company, whose famous Twenty mule teams were used to transport borax from the company's mining operations in Death Valley. Death Valley is a valley in the U.S. states of California and Nevada, and is the location of the lowest elevation in North America at 282 ft (86 m) below sea level. It is one of many places on land which fall below mean sea level. Located southeast of the Sierra Nevada range in the Great Basin and the Mojave Desert, it constitutes much of Death Valley National Park. It runs north-south between the Amargosa Range to the east and the Panamint Range to the west; the Sylvania Mountains and the Owlshead Mountains form its northern and southern boundaries, respectively. Well folks, here's another shot of Death Valley. This is a six shot stich put together with Photomerge in CS 3. I'm such a dumbass, didn't realize CS 3 did this. I'd been using the Canon program when PS CS 3 did an eve better job. Guess I should open up a manual sometime? Nah! Happy Tuesday! Best if viewed large on black.
