The black temple

A few days ago I found one of the most strange places in Tokyo. A temple painted completely in black! And it was closed everywhere, no chance to see inside the altar room as usually. And beside some terrifying looking animal statues on the roof, there was no decoration at all. A dark and empty place, which could make one frightened... The temple is called Yushima Seido and it seems to be a Confucian temple, which I never noticed before in Japan. It's located in Ochanomizu , a few meters away from the JR station on the other side of the Kandagawa, hidden in a small park.
