Clark returns to Beijing to look at one potential solution to the looming Asian food crisis being trialled in many cities throughout Asia, the urban garden. Using disused land, roof tops and even subterranean urban spaces scientists are trying to create ways of tackling urban food insecurity in the cities themselves rather than always looking to the countryside. Professor Cai Jianming from the Chinese academy of sciences is a world leader in developing new technologies to allow this to happen and he has been working with the Beijing municipality to develop his ideas. 06/07/2011, Beijing, China.
