As a computer interested kid my uncle arranged a tour of the IBM Datacentral in Stockholm. This is the front panel of a 360/50; just recently outdated by the System/370 but still very much in use. The base model came with 64K of memory, six orders of magnitude less than a $2K 32GB web server today . Much of my early programming experience came on a 360/75, a $4.5M machine at the Swedish defense department (QZ) which was just a bit bigger than this.

A whopping 4MB of slightly-faster than disk memory, which cost a king's ransom. The IBM guide suggested these were not quite as reliable as one might hope; it certainly looks like a lot of wires to keep adjusted.
