Same scene - different camera - different day. I cloned out the tangled up flags, too. This is a somewhat wide view taken with a 17 mm focal length (25.5 mm equivalent) from virtually the same vantage point. I cropped this one a little high at the bottom, because there was one lone car parked on the side of the road and I just didn't like the way it looked. I kind of prefer this crop without the sidewalk anyhow. I selected the word EMERGENCY and increased the saturation of red in just that area. Compare to the Canon SD900 image for noise and fringing, which is evident along the high contrast areas near the bottom of the image. It's the one on the left hand side in the Photostream window or Nikon D200 - ISO 400 - 17-55 lens @ 17 mm - f/6.3 - 1/125 sec. - spot meter from the glass

Penn has been building a vigorous on-campus community since the first dormitory was designed in 1763. Now, more than two centuries later, the College Houses at Penn are eleven unique undergraduate residences — hubs of intellectual, social, and recreational activity. They stand at the center of the Penn undergraduate experience, bringing together undergraduates, faculty, staff and graduate students to form shared communities within the larger context of Penn's vibrant campus. Constructed in 1895 by the architectural firm of Cope & Stewardson, the 'Quad' is considered to be a fine example of the Collegiate Gothic style. Photo by Steven Minicola

DIfferent vantage point... Here's an example of altering the ISO to suit conditions. I wanted reasonable depth of field and a shutter speed that I could hand hold from my car - stopped in the middle of the street - without risk of blurring the image. A better ISO of 100 would have required more light on the sensor which would mean using a slower shutter speed, a wider aperture or both. At ISO 100, for instance, equivalent exposures would have been f/4.0 at 1/80 or f/8.0 at 1/20 – blurry or shaky. I selected the word EMERGENCY and increased the saturation of red in just that area. Nikon D200 - ISO 400 - 17-55 lens @ 17 mm - f/8.0 - 1/80 sec. - spot meter from the glass

Bloody hand from that double set. Double exposure would explain the lady i don't even know in there. I'm now wondering what the chances of that lady looking directly at the cut are. Her eyes are staring right at the blood. I don't remember seeing this lady anywhere except possibly on the train when i opened the film door by accident, there was a blonde haired lady sitting across from me, but she was too far to be in focus in this picture like this. Honestly, i kinda think it's a ghost.

Houston Hall was the country's first student union, and it remains in service to students to this day. The lower level is a campus eatery, offering many varieties of food, retail shops, and a game room. The Hall of Flags is available for evening events. The first floor houses the University's information center, a cafe, music room and a large study lounge. The upper floors contain performance spaces, meeting rooms and offices for student organizations. Photo by Scott Spitzer
