TBS Control A at 1050 Techwood Drive, circa 1982. It's a Grass Valley 300 switcher with a Chyron IV keyboard off to the left. This fancy room produced analog, composite NTSC television, recorded on two-inch and one-inch Ampex VTRs. The production department's chief engineer was Bill Lance, who had a knack for setting everything up 'just so,' and creating little black boxes to link together stuff which wasn't supposed to go together. He later turned that into an actual business. He managed to teach me a lot of good work habits. Me, I managed to piss him off.

This has been an extremely hot summer. Opressive heat has been an everyday experience, and for a month or more the temperature has hovered around 100. I decided to take the camera outside for a few night shot attempts. Had no sooner exited the building when it began raining, then storming, then flooding! This is a pool forming between my office building and an adjacent street. The reflection is from street lighting. This is straight out of camera, existing light, handheld. 4:06 AM

The new hotness - I got this off of eBay to replace my Dad's old camera. It's the same one, but clearly a different year as some of the components are slightly different. Can't wait to load her up and take some shots. It came with 2 lenses, and 50mm 1.4 and a 70-210mm 4.0-5.6, flash, bag, and some other goodies too.
