2005/05/31Tokyo City Air Terminal Sometimes I envy the Japanese ability to fall asleep anywhere—especially as I was about to take two flights totaling 17 hours. From my door to my Miami Beach hotel took exactly 24 hours. I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that these guys were not waiting for a bus to the airport. That they were just taking advantage of the air-conditioned surroundings to catch some Z's. Too bad about the light and the noise, but Japanese are trained to shut those out since infancy. 過労死 (karōshi) is death by overwork.

The good news is that the Limousine Bus company now has automated ticket vending machines; the bad, that the only take cash. Not bad considering that tickets are ¥2900 a pop! (Although it's a 60-minute ride.)
