SAS house

Welcome to Köpenhamn! We just arrived to Köpenhamn and stepped out the railway station. So this is the first sight you get of this nice city. But to be honest, it is definitely a nice city. This is the SAS house in central Köpenhamn. I also like those characteristic streetlamps in the city. They look quite old and give nice pictures with those holding-ropes. Classical skyscraper style. And one of the few real skyscarpers in the Nordic countries. Another one is this one in Stockholm: Looks a bit the same I would say...

Industriens Hus

Industriens Hus

The building is Industriens Hus and it houses the Confederation of Danish Industries. Architect Erik Møller, 1979. The green pyramid was added 1990. The building in the background is the SAS Royal Hotel by Arne Jacobsen, who also entered the competition for Industriens Hus - but his project was never built.

Black-headed Gull (Larus ridibundus)

I find the Black-headed Gull in bright sunshine difficult to photograph due to the contrasts. It is actually quite normal that their 'black' hats are brown in the summer (and white with a black spot behind the eye in the winter) so why they are called Black-headed Gulls is not clear. I loved the blue shadow.

The coat of arms of the kingdom of Denmark - detail from the Copenhagen Central Station

The coat of arms of the kingdom of Denmark - detail from the Copenhagen Central Station

This is the coat of arms of the kingdom of Denmark -- three lions and nine hearts. It's located on the Bernstorffsgade side of the Central Station, because the section of the station set aside for the royals was located there. Not really used for that purpose anymore, I think.

Ancient atmospheres

I looked up and away from the busy people at Copenhagen Central Station and saw this authentic motive as was it 1911 where the station opened. The chandelier is actually that old. I like the light. Kodak EasyShare CX7300 3.2MP
