Not overly happy with the light or the composition of the clouds, so more of a reference shot for going back :-) This is Ardsley Reservoir just south of Leeds. It's literally a few minutes drive from my house, and i pass it regularly on the way to my parents, but ironically it's so well hidden away i never even realised it existed! (it's literally just behind the big tingley roundabout near the White Rose centre in Leeds). To say its so well hidden, you can actually see for miles and miles from the dam itself - with views over the countryside all the way to the Peak district and emley moor tv transmitter, and quite prominently Castle Hill in huddersfield (tho the view is spoilt a little with electricity pylons). Does leave me wondering where all the water comes from tho - they appear to pump it in from somewhere given water gushing from some pipes, and no obvious river leading to it (its pretty much sat on top of a hill anyway). Given its so close i think i'll visit here more often - only a short bike ride away :-)
