we'd been sitting in the unrelenting heat for two days when we left the ground during the afternoon session for some respite from the sun. a kind, aged couple leaving the ground at the time asked if we were stuck on the unshaded grass banks to which we nodded. they said they were leaving and wondered if we'd like their tickets :) practically behind the bowlers arm they said. corporate tickets, the best in the house. unashamedly grateful, we grabbed them with both hands. had a little trouble getting into that section of the ground with the 30d and 300mm sigma, but when they accused me of being some sort of professional and pete's natural and immediate response was to collapse on the floor in hysterics, they felt stupid to refuse us entry. unbelievably, this was the very first ball of the innings and the very first shot i took with the macro zoom. sadly i couldn't hold it steady due to heat exhaustion but i have to be pleased with the result. don't i? after all, i am a pommie bastard
