Grimshawe House (also known as the Peabody House) 53 Charter Street Salem, Massachusetts Salem dentist and his wife Elizabeth moved to this house in 1835, surrounded by the Burying Point graveyard. They were the parents of the intellectual and talents Peabody Sisters: Elizabeth, Mary and Sophia. Nathaniel Hawthorne courted Sophia Peabody at this house, and used it as the setting for Dr. Grimshawe's Secret and Dolliver's Romance.
