This is the last one of my Shanghai photos. As I have mentioned before, I plan to make a photo book from the trip to Shanghai. I have now edited all of my own photos that I'm planning to use in the book. Next I'm going to sort through all the photos taken by my friends and do some editing to them too. There is a huge amount of photos to edit, but I'm probably going to give them a much quicker edit than to my own photos. It's already one and half years since my trip, so I guess I'm lucky if my photo book is ready during this decade...

They say the elderly who gamble are more likely to have a longer lifespan. Not because of the gambling, but because of the attitude. These guys are so fun to watch. I hated to treat them like a novelty and take pictures of them up close, so I used my Sigma 70-300mm to get this, which doesn't work well for long distance shots. I could've easily spent a couple hours shooting them up-close though. I wish I'd gotten a crisper shot from a better angle, but for me, the youthfulness of the group brought so much life to this.

I bought D two pairs of Oriental-style cuff links. I got these from the Shanghai Museum Shop and they were considerably cheaper than the pair I saw at Shanghai Tang. These are supposed to be symbols used for mirrors in the old times. If you're after good-quality Chinese souvenirs, the Shanghai Museum Shop is a good store to check out, compared to the pricey tourist-geared stores at Xin Tian Di. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. According to the Practical Guide to Shanghai, it's called the No. 1 Street in China. It is 1033 m long and situated between the Bund and the People's Square. This stretch of road is lined with hundreds of stores and consequently neon. I find that it's much better to visit at night as the lights serve as a good distraction from the crowd and noise.

The most photogenic street food I've ever bitten into. People's Square is Shanghai's largest public square and is located in downtown Shanghai. it is surrounded by the Municipal City Hall in the north, Shanghai Museum in the south, Shanghai Grand Theatre in the northwestern side and the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall in the northeastern side.

Yuyuan Bazaar fringe. It's worthwhile to check the stalls outside the bazaar, you can get some of the items in the bazaar for a 5th of its price here. But keep your eyes open because sometimes the item is just a really good copy of the item in the bazaar.

A very interesting restaurant in Tianzifang. The restaurant actually used to be a tiny tall house, and as a result, to get to our table, we had to climb 4 sets of narrow, tiny, steep stairs. Almost felt like a ladder. Only in China!
