Telephoto view to the north-northwest from the Gorge Amphitheater, an outdoor concert venue in eastern Washington State. It sits atop a basalt plateau overlooking the river. Music lovers come from as far away as Seattle for performances. Babcock bench is a barren plateau created by the ice age floods 15,000 years ago. It has the same appearance as much of the channeled scablands of Washington.
