Texel is a municipality and an island in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is the biggest and most populated of the Frisian Islands in the Wadden Sea and also the westernmost of this archipelago, which extends to Denmark. The next island in the archipelago, to the north of Texel, is Vlieland.

large The fences on the dike along the Wadden sea are full of ladybugs, every one of them. No clue why that is. De hekken op de Texelse waddenzeedijk zitten vol met lieveheersbeestjes, allemaal. Geen idee waarom.

Dunes on Texel, covered with Heather in bloom (Struikheide - Calluna vulgaris) This place is on the Pieter Rozenvlak, West of the place Den Hoorn. The bunker is part of the Batterij Den Hoorn (1938-1939)
