Temple of Debod
temple which has been rebuilt in Madrid, Spain. The temple was built in southern Egypt, very close to the first cataract of the Nile and to the great religious center dedicated to the goddess Isis, in Philae. Madrid, 2003 A gift from the Egyptian government to thank Spain for its assitance in helping rescue precious ancient monuments flooded by the construction of the Aswan Dam. The sharp division of the stone and the sky caught my eye as I wandered around the complex.
