Näsinneula Observation Tower & Särkänniemi Amusement Park

The Näsi Needle is a famous landmark of the city for several decades now. It is the tallest observation tower in the Nordic countries, opened in 1971. The top of the tower stands at a height of 168 metres. Näsinneula restaurant (very stylish, amongst the ten best restaurants in Finland) is at a height of 124 metres in its own rotating capsule. The lifts travel at a speed of 6 metres per second (and always block my ears!). You can visit the needle at most times of the day all the year round. The Needle and at its bottom, the Särkänniemi Amusement Park, were erected on a small peninsula pushing into the Lake Näsijärvi.
