I've posted many images I've worked hard to make into art. Some of those have been of my wife. However, this shot, snapshot though it may be, I consider one of my all-time favorites. My wife was never an athlete growing up. Far from it, in fact. A number of years ago, we started running together, then attended a Spinning class at our gym. That led us into triathlon (made somewhat difficult back then by the fact that she could not swim). She is now a 10-time Ironman finisher, and has completely reinvented herself in the process. I have a photo of her crossing the finishline at Ironman Hawaii in 2006, holding up a picture of our then 10-day-old grandson (we hadn't even seen him yet, he was born while we were in the air flying to Hawaii). I have other favorite shots of her, some of which I've posted here. However, this shot is special to me, in large part because of what it meant to her. This is totally spontaneous, taken just as she received the little pot in her hands. What you see really is pure joy. Anyone interested in the whole story can see it here in this gallery. Read the description above the thumbnails, and then the captions under each image. Thank you, my friends.
