accordian
Made by birdcage
Lady of Spain I adore you. Or whatever. I actually have no idea how to play the accordian, and associate most things accordian with Scott Fowler, the little weasel who sat next to me in the fifth grade. He played the accordian. For Mrs. Robinson's (my) fifth grade class. He also belted me so hard one day that he turned my arm purple. I yelped and Mrs. Robinson sent us both to the principal for disrupting class. Mr. Brady, the principal, saw the welt on my arm and sent me to the school nurse, whom I remember as Honey Mika's mother. She lectured me about how I shouldn't ever wear high heels, and if I did, I should absolutely wait until I was older. I was ten at the time. I had no idea what she was talking about. She wore cha-cha heels- Candies- wooden things with a red leather strap that reminded me of Grease (think Olivia Newton John in the final scene). She showed me her feet and said they were wrecked from wearing heels too much, too early. She said she couldn't wear flat shoes as a result. I was skeptical. Not that that has much to do with this picture, other than that an accordian is involved in both. This is a polaroid taken by in the apartment she shared with her sister in Stuyvesent Town. It must have been taken in 1990, when I would have been 19. I'm wearing a polyester dress from the late 1940s that is held together with safety pins. I got it in the by the pound section of Domsey's. I believe the accordian belonged to Julee's sister's ex-boyfriend, Mitch, with whom she (Tabs, not Julee. Or that might have been the band they were both in) was in a band at the time, which, as I recall, invovled numerous horns, a ukelele, and the accordian, among other things. Me, I'm just making noise on it.

A Bit Of Nature
Made by de-lineation
Ba-bye NYC! This weekend I'm headed up to N.H. to do a little hike up Mt. Washington. Good news is I'll be climbing one of my favorite trails, bad news is I'll probably be suffering from internet withdrawal the entire time. I haven't missed a day on my photoblog since the last time I went on vacation 3 years ago, and since I don't intend on missing another, the lovely Mrs. De-Lin will be uploading Saturday and Sunday for me on my photoblog. Unfortunately I'm not asking her to update my Flickr page so if any of you out there would like to see those, feel free to head over there. They'll be a bit boring since I've run out of photos, but on the bright side, I should have plenty of great shots upon my return. So folks, I'll see you Monday!

By any other name.
