Strobl
Strobl am Wolfgangsee is a village in the northeastern portion of the Austrian state of Salzburg, right on the border of Upper Austria. It lies on the eastern side of lake Wolfgangsee in the Salzkammergut resort region, at 47°43'N 13°28'E. The town has a population of 3,453 (2001) and an area of 93.89 km². Both the main road (158), from Salzburg and St.Gilgen to Bad Ischl, and the road to St. Wolfgang pass on the edge of Strobl so there is no through traffic. There are several villages around the lake - the main ones being St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut, and St. Gilgen at the other end of the Wolfgangsee, plus the hamlet of Weissenbach bei Strobl. A small steamer operates on the lake. Also in the town, the University of Vienna operates the Bundesinstitut für Erwachsenenbildung an adult-education institution, and a frequent location for academic conferences.Top photos chosen by u all:

La Targul de Craciun, care se deschide in pietele centrale ale satelor Austriei dupa 20 noiembrie si tine pana in ajunul Craciunului, uneori, ceva mai subtiat, si pana in ajunul Anului Nou, din 10 in 10 metri (ma rog, din 15 in 15 !) se aprind astfel de butuci care ard mocnit sau cu flacara, pentru a se incalzi la ei, trecatorii. Comanzi un vin fiert, sau turta dulce, sau nuci in caramel, sau carnati de-ai lor, sau un punch si asculti acordurile lui Mozart, mai ducandu-te, din cand in cand, sa furi oleaca de caldura de la asa-zisele lanterne ale Nordului. Imaginea de mai sus e facuta la St. Wolfgang, pe malul lacului Wolfgangsee, nu departe de Salzburg.
