The horizontally opposed / boxer engine that (turbocharged) produces 300hp / 300ft/lb of torque (roughly) out of a four-banger. The 2008 Impreza has been completely redesigned, and will feature a hatch with a much lower center of gravity. Although I really like the current models, I think I'll be waiting for the 2008s to be available as the mechanical improvements they seem to be advertising make it a much more stable car (than it already is) with the same 'on-sheet' performance taglines (hp and torque aren't what makes the car completely!!).

Played with the 1D mk4 a little bit today at the Photo Expo organized by The Camera Store here in Calgary. That ISO 102400 is pretty crazy. but also quite noisy. I wouldn't say the images are usable under normal situations. However it's nice to see that camera manufactures are exploring the possibilities. The Canon guys refused to tell me anything about the upcoming 1Ds :(

Just a quick shot taken inside one of the permanent buildings down at the Stampede Grounds during the Calgary Stampede, on July 12th. My youngest daughter and I were in search of some lunch and I couldn't resist trying to catch a few of the brightly coloured cowboy hats on display. A constant stream of people going past, but I just managed to grab this one.
