The first parts were built in 1168, built as a Catholic cathedral and remained so until the English protestant invasion of Cromwell in 1651. He then used it as a stables. Eventually it was appropriated for use by the protestants and remains a protestant cathedral today. And for some reason the gates are always fucking locked.
