Raising a bullring / Elevando una plaza de toros

Les Arenes - Barcelona (Spain). ENGLISH Pharaonic work to reconvert the Bullring of Les Arenes (neomudejar style, year 1899) in a playful center. The works began in 2003 and is predicted that they finalize in 2009. The bullring drained leaving only the circular facade. Then all was reinforced with a metallic structure, was constructed a cement base, the facade was cut of its foundations, and it raised 5 meters with 16 hydraulic jacks. ----------------------------- CASTELLANO Faraónica obra para reconvertir la Plaza de toros de Les Arenes (estilo neomudéjar, año 1899) en un centro lúdico. Las obras empezaron en el 2003 y está previsto que finalicen en el 2009. Se vació la plaza dejando sólo la fachada circular. Luego se reforzó todo con una estructura metálica, se construyó una base de hormigón, se cortó la fachada de sus cimientos, y se elevó 5 metros con 16 gatos hidráulicos.

You can see one of the two venetian towers in the entrance. At the end the Palau Nacional and the Monjuic mountain.
