Completely; extremely. 2. Audaciously; boldly. I think all the definitions fit this guy pretty well! So when surrounded by culture what do we do? Go to the zoo! It was just round the corner from the hotel and I don't think we realised quite how big it was. Most the enclosures were very open and you get the feeling if the animals really wanted to, they could easily get out. Birdman and I watched this dirty protest in amazement at the Amsterdam zoo! This chimp was carrying an object in its hand for a while before squishing it against the glass right in front of us. The object was actually 'caca' (its own or another's, we don't know). It then proceeded to lick it off the glass! The poor creature clearly needs help (or vitamins!). ;-)

Around her, every other monkey enclosure was brimming with activity. If they weren't climbing, they were jumping, bouncing, digging, fighting. Not her, sitting on one log with her head hanging and tongue poking out at everyone who thought to pass by. I couldn't help but think she might not be doing it on purpose-- but then, if she was, who could blame her?

There is a Heron which lives along one of my most favorite walks. She returns every year & has done for 5 years now, to rais her young. All the time we have known each other she has never let me take her photo, says she is camera shy, so i was rather chuffed to catch this shot - its not her but i am happy with it non the less.

1988. Ontworpen door Cornelia Smit. In 1916 stelde dr. A.F.J. Portielje vast dat dwergchimpansee Mafuka een andere soort chimpansee moest zijn. Pas in 1929 werd de bonobo als aparte soort erkend. Mafuka was dus een bonobo.

Dutch health and safety! Amsterdam zoo doesn't stop people getting close to enclosures and puts up these signs just to warn you that if you stick your fingers through, it's your own fault if you get bitten!
