In ancient India, women occupied a very important position, superior to men. Still now word for strength and power is feminine -Shakti'' . All male power is considered to come from the feminine. As a concept it is a symbol of dynamic realization. Woman is the eternal Mother, who is all Wisdom, all Compassion, all Force, Beauty and Perfection. It is in this way that since the dawn of times, Hindus have venerated the feminine element under its different manifestations. Mahalaxshmi, Mahakali, Mahasaraswati, Maheshwari - and even India is feminine: Mother India. Encore aujourd'hui, les mot pour force, énergie sont féminins. Le pouvoir masculin est considéré comme généré par le féminin, symbole de réalisation dynamique. La femme est la Mère éternelle, elle est sagesse, compassion, beauté, force, perfection. A difficult image. Because of the light, but also I was lost in the crowd that day, things where happening everywhere, throngs of pilgrims crowding the bank of the river, the rituals going on, hijra dancing at the sound of drums, kids trying to make a living selling flowers for the rituals. An inextricable mess contrasting with the calm of river ganga. People told me with strong conviction that whoever observe the month long fast and come here with a pure heart sees his wishes comes true. Many came to thanks Lord Vishnu for passed success. _____________________________ Une image difficile. À cause de la lumière, de la foule de pèlerins s'entassant le bord de la rivière, des rituels un peu partou, hijra dansant au son de tambours, gamins essayant de gagner leur vie en vendant des fleurs … Un désordre inextricable contrastant avec le calme du Gange. Les gens m'ont dit avec grande conviction que quiconque observe les prescriptions poropres au mois de Kartik, consacré à Vishnu, et vient ici avec un coeur pur obtient la réalisation d'un voeu. Beaucoup étaient venus Lord Vishnu pour des succès passés… Voir l'introduction ici
