Slunj (archaic Croatian: Slovin grad, German: Sluin, Hungarian: Szluin) is a town in the mountainous part of Croatia, located along the very important north-south route to the Adriatic Sea between Karlovac and the Plitvice Lakes, on the meeting of the rivers Korana and Slunjcica (also called Slusnica by local people). It has a population of 1,776, with a total of 6,090 people in the municipality (2001) and is the centre of the region of Kordun.

Rastoke is a small village near Slunj. It is famous for its natural beauties. Two rivers meet in this village, the Korana and the Slunjcica which meet near the old water-mill. There are number of waterfalls and cascades. Nature really can surprise you here by tiny details. The area is protected by the UNESCO.
