Skoklosters slott

Went on a midsummer picnic with parents and sis to the Skokloster castle area. We didn't go inside (besides visiting the toilet) but the interiors are interesting and surely worth a more throughout visit. It's in fact said to be one of the best kept Baroque castles in the world with much of the furniture, decorations, weaponry etc all intact. Personally I find the unfinished ball room the most interesting. It's kept just like the workers left it in the summer of 1676, with the tools and all laying around.

In the castle's orchard
Made by Björn Sahlberg
Much of the old orchard is still around. In the later parts of the castle's history (up until the 1960's, when all was sold to the Swedish state) the fruits and vegetables from here was an important income. It was here that Grannie worked, met grandfather (who was the local forester), made a family and mom and aunt grew up.

Sis holding toad (Split Vison #3)
Made by Björn Sahlberg
Making these Split Visions is rather intriguing! It's funny how images work - and don't work - together. Here two pics of sis, both taken during midsummer excursions and in the same area, but on different years. Left: now say cheese!. Right: heading back to after a short walk.

Sis holding toad (Split Vison #3.1)

New version of sis holding toad though without the Skokloster shloss. It landed this way when pasting the sis with toad pic on to the Split Vision layout and instantly liked it better than the previous version.
