Skipton is a town in North Yorkshire, England that lies along the River Aire and Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It forms part of the Craven district of the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire, but is within the historic boundaries of the West Riding of Yorkshire. An open-air market is held four times a week on the high street (Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday).

Found this tree shadow growing up the side of Skipton castle . Skipton is one of our favourite weekend places to vist. It has a canal, a street market , lots of pubs and cafes, a Thornton's sweet shop, small art galleries and a castle.. what else do you want from life!!!! The castle is medieval and we haven't looked round it for many years. .. it costs over £5 to look round so maybe next time!
