The unusal Holocaust Memorial in Berlin consisting of 2711 concrete blocks. While I didn't particularly like the concept when it was presented to the public in 2005, I must admit that it was quite moving to wander between the stone blocks. You feel lost, it's anonymous, somehow creepy and it doesn't really make sense - that's when I began to understand the idea behind it. From Wikipedia: According to architect Peter Eisenman's project text, the stelae are designed to produce an uneasy, confusing atmosphere, and the whole sculpture aims to represent a supposedly ordered system that has lost touch with human reason.

Das Unternehmen Otto Bock Health Care eröffnet Anfang 2009 ein „Kompetenz-Zentrum Medizintechnik“. Im oberen Teil des fünfgeschossigen Gebäudes ist eine Wohnung, darunter sind Büros und Seminarräume angeordnet. Besucher werden auf drei Etagen „medizintechnische Zukunft zum Anfassen“ erleben und über Behindertensport informiert. Der Entwurf stammt vom Büro Gnädinger.

A great coincidence that this should be one of only 2 English coaches I saw on a trip that spanned France, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweeden, Denmark, Holland & Belgium. The other coach was operated by Epsom Coaches.

I was desperately waiting for someone with a red umbrella to come along. But nobody did, and when my husband started rolling his eyes, I knew it was time to go and I had to give up... :)

Nach der Landtagswahl in Hessen hat sich an der Baustelle: Regierung nicht viel getan. Neben der Baustelle: Hessen, ist auch die Baustelle: Bundes-SPD noch nicht fertiggestellt. Vielleicht geht ja bald das Licht an (im Vordergrund) und bringt Licht ins Dunkel.

Not far from Potsdamer Platz a big ferris wheel is a local attraction. It's not as spectacular as the London Eye - but then again it's not that pricy either, and the view over the city is nice.
