I have a weird aversion to going inside derelict houses. Abandoned factories, stores and industrial facilities? No problem! But houses kind of weird me out. Maybe it's the fact that they were once people's homes, combined with the fact that they're somewhat more likely to house squatters who might not react favourably to some nerd with a camera stumbling in. So yeah, I didn't go inside. Coward.

This corner house just across from the QE II medical campus in Nedlands has only been abandoned for a comparatively short time. Squatters and taggers have well and truly moved in however. Apparently the place (and the one next door) are slated for redevelopment. They'll probably subdivide the blocks into townhouses like much of the rest of the block.

Construction work at Charles Gairdner hospital. Hospitals always have an oddly organic feel to them - new buildings are put up wherever they'll fit and linked to older ones with walkways, bridges and pipes. They grow like some kind of fungal colony.

Major building works are underway at Charles Gardier Hospital. The plant building on the right with it's distinctive chimney will be demolished and replaced with a new children's hospital, while a new plant building is under construction on the left.
