A statue of Belgian contemporary artist Panamarenko. I love his work, which always focuses on on flight, or at least the desire for flight. Even his largest, bulkiest installations have a lightness that suggest they have just touched down behind your back. This one, Pepto Bismo, depicts a man with a self-made propeller pack on his back, about to take off. It's situated on a large square in the artist's native neighbourhood, now struggling to cope with its classic inner-city social, cultural and economic difficulties. So far for the art critique. It looks great and I couldn't have shot it any different than this, anonymous and full of yearning for those big skies above.
