Shelbyville is a city in Shelby County, Indiana, United States. The population was 17,951 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Shelby County^GR6. The current mayor is Republican Scott Furgeson. The city was partially the setting and origin of the characters in the comedy film Say It Isn't So.
