Wild Birds Meet the Power of Man

Osprey family in the South of Calgary. I added this to show the context for the next three or so shots. This is next to one of the busiest roads in Calgary - MacLeod Trail. The platform must be very attractive as a safe haven and high spot but definitely not the quietest place in Calgary. The story goes that local power co. workers were tasked with removing the nest but upon closer inspection and observing eggs in the nest they left it alone with the exception of removing a few twigs that were close to the power lines. Well done! Update: Not too long after this was taken the nest was removed by the power company. As it turns out the pair rebuilt on the other side of the road on a similar structure...

The larger building to the left is part of the Fish Creek-Lacombe train station in Calgary. A bus loop is in front of it. Off-pic, to the right, is the actual platform. Its actually an oddly long walk to the platform, from this building.
