Thomas Shaughnessy House - 1909
Made by Bob_2006
1551 Angus Street, Vancouver, BC. This house was built in 1909-1910 for Sir Thomas Shaughnessy, president of the Canadian Pacific Railway from 1899 to 1918. As one of the first homes constructed on the newly cleared Shaughnessy Heights, it set the standard for new development. It was designed to replicate an Irish hunting lodge, but the completed house reflected more of an English Arts and Crafts style. The house underwent major renovation and expansion in the late 1990s, which preserved the exterior characteristics on the street facade.
