Selimiye Mosque, Edirne, Turkey. The mosque was commissioned by Sultan Selim II and was built between 1568 and 1574 by architect Mimar Sinan whose most famous work is the Suleiman Mosque in Istanbul. The Selimiye Mosque has the highest minarets in Turkey, at 70.9 meters, and was considered by Sinan to be his masterpiece.
