Sapanca Gölü Adapazarı ile İstanbul arasında Kocaeli sınırına yakın bölgede, Sapanca ilçesi içinde yer alan bir göldür. Yazın ve kışın seyahat eden yolcuların uğrak noktası olan Sapanca Gölü kıyısında çeşitli balık restoranları ve pansiyonlar bulunur. Kaynağını dağlardan gelen kar suları ve Derbent deresinden alan gölde, turna balığı, yayın balığı, sazan türleri ve alabalık bol miktarda bulunur. Uzunluğu 16 km, en geniş yeri ise Sapanca ile karşı kıyı arası olup, 5,5 kmdir. Yüzölçümü 42 km2, en derin yeri ise Sapanca açıklarında 61 mdir.Yağış alanı, 252 km2yi bulan Sapanca Gölü, genel olarak güneyindeki dağlardan gelen derelerle beslenir. Gölde yılda ortalama 75 cm kadar bir seviye değişikliği görülür. Göl seviyesi sonbaharda en alçak, ilkbaharda en yüksektir. Senenin bol yağışlı zamanlarında çark deresi kapakları açılarak bir nevi su tahliyesi sağlanmakta ve gölün seviyesi bu şekilde dengede tutulmaktadır. Göl fotoğraflarım

This is our nayla (rhymes with my-la) or serander. It was originally a working summer house and grain storage barn from the north east of Turkey Black Sea area. Towns like Artvin where Ismail (brother in law) is from. now I need a lot of icing and some giant Smarties to put on the roof.check out the nayla video below.

These are called quince in English. First them I have seen them. We don't have them in my part of Canada. Nice picture with the bare branches and bright fruit and mosque behind. We live just a few minutes from this spot. This would be a good one for Google.

if you listen closely you can hear one of the 5 times a day calls to prayer from the local mosque. Actually in this valley we hear first one beautiful call and then the next mosque or Cami in Turkish kicks in and then we have dueling banjos.

This is the main floor. About 3 x 3 meters square. On this floor there are two sides with balconies. Above is a about 4 x 4 meter room attic stle with a pole/beam roof.
