Salta is a city in northwestern Argentina and the capital city of the eponymous province, situated at the foothills of the Andes mountains. Famous for its old, Spanish-style colonial architecture and surrounded by magnificent scenery, it is one of Argentina's most beautiful cities.
- Cabildo, the old town hall, of 1783, on the Plaza 9 de Julio. Now houses the Museo Histórico del Norte
- Iglesia San Francisco, on the corner of Caseros and Córdoba, of 1796, beautiful church with remarkable tower.
- Cerro San Bernardo, 1458 m hill just east of the city centre. From Parque San Martin, a cable car goes to the summit, offering spectacular views of the city and its surroundings.
- Museo Antropológico , Avenida Ejército del Norte. Offers a very interesting insight into various indigenous cultures, which have flourished throughout the centuries in this part of Argentina

La Patrona de la iglesia es Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. Esta devoción se inicio en las primeras décadas del 1600, cuando en la antigua hacienda de la Viña, la familia Fernández Pedrozo construía una humilde Capilla dedicada a la Virgen de la Candelaria, conocida en esa época como Virgen de la Viña. El 10 de Septiembre 1735 una invasión de aborígenes chaqueños asoló esta hacienda e incendió dicha Capilla, donde la Imagen de la Virgen sería acribillada a flechazos por un nativo que intentó degollarla sin poder conseguirlo, emanando sangre de las heridas. Una india que estaba observando esta situación, al ver el Niño de la Virgen rodar entre las llamas, seguramente acudiendo a su sentimiento de madre, lo tomó y lo tuvo en su poder durante varios años. Luego de esta trágica noche la Imagen sería llevada a Salta Capital donde se conserva en la Iglesia de La Viña.

I love the old architecture of that place, but the sky captured my eye, trimmed in the middle of all. That street bringed to me some memories of some street in other country. I took this shot during my north’s travel in Argentina, Salta. Nostalgia describes a longing for the past, often idealized and unrealistic.
