Manastirine - a burial ground for the (then outlawed) Christians in the 1st century AD, Manastirine later bacame the cite of a church. It's most important grave, of St. Dominus, was moved to Diocletian's Mausoleum in 614 when the Avars attacked and sacked Salona, the ancient town near to Diocletian's palace (now Split).

The main amphitheater of Salona. Salona was founded in the 4th century BC by Greeks from the island of Issa and later grew into an important Illyrian Greek town. It's amphitheater, which was largely dismantled to provide stones for other buildings, once seated 18,000 spectators.
