Here's a conundrum: the text on the ceiling reads as follows: hæC sanCtIthoMæ basILIC[a] renoVata aCres[?]aVrat est CCIMILICVCV = 1463 !! But the vault painting was made in 1730, so there's a difference of 267, or CCLXVII. The problem is, then, how to fit these missing letters into the spaces available [between my square brackets] in such a way as to complete a rational Latin text. Any suggestions are very welcome!
