Spiral walk.
Made by Matzepeng
www.rundetaarn.dk/ Rundetaarn (The Round Tower) was built on the initiative of King Christian IV (1588-1648) with Hans Steenwinkel the Younger as the architect. On July 7th -1637, the foundation stone for Rundetaarn was laid. The tower was the first stage of the Trinitatis complex, which was to gather three important facilities for the scholars of the seventeenth century: an astronomical observatory, a student church and a university library. The spiral walk is unique in European architecture. The 209 m long spiral ramp winds itself 7,5 times round the hollow core of the tower, forming the only connection between the individual parts of the building complex. Hej Copenhagen!

Øresund Bridge, Nikolaj Kirke, Christiansborg Slot, Helligåndskirken
Made by Ryan Hadley
The three prominent spires belong to Nikolaj Kirke, Christiansborg Slot, and Helligåndskirken (from left-to-right). If you look closely to the left of Nikolaj Kirke, you can make out Øresund Bridge, which leads to Malmö, Sweden (which I visited on my fifth day). The small spire to the left of Nikolaj Kirke belongs to Vors Frelsers Kirke. If that explanation was too confusing for you, I've added notes to the photograph to label all those buildings. :-)

Inside the Round Tower

Taken in the Rundetaarn/Round Tower in Copenhagen. An old observatory, it has no stairs so machinery could be easily wheeled up to the top.
