Taken while on a weekend away with my dad to our old stomping grounds of Kansas City; to do what we had done for 5 years (while I was in junior high and high school), which was to see the Kansas City Chiefs NFL team play. An incredible weekend; and incredible place to see a game -- and I got to watch 2 teams I like (which meant I was both happy and sad, since one had to loose). -- and no, I don't know who this fellow is ... he was pointing to some other fans who happened to be standing and pointing in his direction ... so it became a pointing/laughing (drunken happiness) thing

As a child my parents were my providers, protectors, guides and comforters. Now they are my mentors, my confidants, my friends and they will not be here forever. Knowing this made me want to do all I could to enjoy their company while I could. So why not accentuate our (me and my fathers) similarities and pick a game, a team and make a trip together for a weekend once a year. It isn't about the game or the teams as much as its about the times inbetween. And this past weekend I cherished that time.

While driving to our parking space (somewhere in another zip code) we drove through thousands and thousands of tail-gaters grilling, drinking, tossing footballs, taunting opposing team fans, and drinking. Lots of drinking. I leaned out my window to try and capture what felt like a city of people outlining the stadium and had many people willingly pose of me.

Incoming storm clouds on the evening of Wednesday 8 August 2007. This was taken from the upper deck of Kauffman Stadium during the Royals-Twins game. This storm would eventually drift eastward to make our drive back to Johnson County a pain...lots of rain and lightning. It also caused some power outage that night/early morning.
