This is just a quick capture by the roosevelt stop on the CTA. i was riding home after work and saw the amazing sunset. When i got off of the train i set my camera for the 9exp bracket setting. I took 2 sets of pictures and my train came up. i should have stayed and taken more pictures but i had forgotten my gloves and was getting pretty cold. ______________________________________________________________________________ 9 exposure HDR merged in Photomatix and tweaked in Photoshop.

The charter train stops at Roosevelt for an impromptu photo stop, much to the confusion of Red Line passengers waiting for a train to Howard. The charter train was on its way from Ashland/63rd on the Green Line to Kimball on the Brown Line via the Red Line subway. Taken during the Illinois Railway Museum's 2011 Snowflake Special charter trip, which toured the Chicago Transit Authority rail system on March 27, 2011.

Roosevelt Ave is a convenient place to transfer between the elevated and subway lines when going to/from Midway Airport, without having to ride all the way around The Loop. I think that's the Shedd Aquarium in the distance - it looks further than it is because of the haze. Yeah, I could walk that, easily - if it wasn't so bloomin' hot!
