King Henry VIII's Mound is the highest point within the Royal Park at Richmond and is located within the public gardens of Pembroke Lodge. It is named for Henry VIII of England. From the Mound there is a protected view of St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London over 16 km to the east which was established in 1710. This vista is protected by a 'dome and half' width of sky on either side but the current Mayor of London (Ken Livingston) and the government, seem keen to reduce this by half, presumably in order to allow skyscrapers to creep ever-closer to the Cathedral. Richmond Park is the largest of the Royal Parks in London. The park covers 2,360 acres and is Europe's largest urban walled park.

Taken earlier this year from the top of Richmond Hill. This is a hard one to get right for the web. There is a lot of fine detail (ducks in the water, water ripples, tree layers leading in to the background) that gets lost on the websize. I printed this for someone at A3 print of this and it looked beautiful.
