Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral - Altar HDR
Made by Dae-Wang
The Cathedral-Basilica of Mary, Queen of the World (French: Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is the seat of the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Montreal. It is the third largest church in Quebec after St. Joseph's Oratory (also in Montreal) and the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré east of Quebec City. It is a National Historic site of Canada. The church is located at 1085 Cathedral Street ( 45°29′57.10″N, 73°34′6.10″W) at the corner of René Lévesque Boulevard, near the Bonaventure metro station and Central Station in downtown Montreal.

It is nice to be back on Flickr, for the both of us. As always, thank-you for your kind comments and invites. While my wife was in Edmonton, Alberta on her business trip there, I was visiting Montréal, Québec (Canada). We stopped across the Place du Canada, to get a night shot of this Cathedral. Let me tell you, it was extremely cold that night. Enjoy!

You can see the Sun Life Building, part of Place Ville Marie and the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, and, if you look carefully at the far left of the picture, Tour Scotia (Scotiabank Tower).

Re-Peter

The Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde is a remarkable building -- a scale model of Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. I wanted to take a lot more pictures, but was reluctant to disturb people at prayer.
