Somewhere in the Middle of America - After the Funeral. Sam Deisley removes a wreath before filling in the grave of Eunice M. Fritz shortly after her funeral service at the Red Cloud Cemetery. Fritz, who was born outside of Red Cloud in 1909, had a longstanding involvement in education, serving 46 years as a teacher and 24 as the county superintendent. She retired just shy of her 90th birthday in 1999.
