So many scorekeepers!

So many scorekeepers!

This girl, and at least 4 other people sitting around me, were keeping score of the game. I'd never seen so many people keeping a scorecard since my first few games in Toledo watching the Mudhens, back when they played at Ned Skelton Stadium. I would sit with 4 or 5 old men keeping score and talking about the Tigers. After the game, she was interviewing Rich Maloney, so I wonder if she was keeping score for reporting purposes? Could she be a Daily writer? Anyway, as per my normal stealth shot policy, if you know who this is, she can have a free print!

SP Chris Fetter in his windup. The people sitting in front of me kept referring to him as Cheese. I'm really not sure why. Term of endearment? He went 6 innings, giving up 5 hits, 3 runs, 4 K's, and got the win. EDIT - After the game on 5/5/07, someone told me the story behind the nickname 'Cheese.' But since it's not my story, I'll leave it private. It's a nice story though.

SS Jason Christian and LF Brad Roblin nearly collide while trying to make a play on what should have been a bloop single. However, because these two nearly ran into each other, neither could make a play on the ball and CF Eric Rose came in to make the play. This was actually ruled a straight up double. Oakland U third base coach John Musachio looks on.

I sat with a bunch of old guys keeping score. Strangely enough, there were a TON of people scoring the game, including this guy. He was using the Fisher Stadium provided scorecard. As usual with stealth shots, if you know who this is, they can get a free print!

I think BFiM commented on this habit of batters to use their cup to support their bat while adjusting their batting gloves. Here's a prime example of #7 Kunkel doing just that. Kunkel went 1 for 4 with an RBI on the day.
