One of Those Days...

Went downtown this afternoon but it was totally dead, didn't fire off a single photo there, I did run into Ian - - and had a good chat with him for awhile though... Decided to take my photographic chances in Inglewood, almost always great hunting grounds for a photographer... But just simply found no inspiration A) The fabulous graffiti delivery van (nearby the white barn) has been hauled away, within the last month, I'm positive it was there during Historic Calgary Week, darn! B) One of my favourite old homes (nearby St. John the Evangelist church) has been demolished, it always had some fascinating old junk in the backyard, no more... Darn! C) Independent Machinery is closing for business, it had a front yard full of great old junk and such D) Stopped by the former Hudson Bay Company warehouse, used lately by various artists and always an active place, today? devoid of activity and hardly a car or person in sight, even all the great old cars parked behind the building have been moved elsewhere, to where? Darn! It has me wondering what is happening to Inglewood, it used to be a great old inner city community, but is it losing some of its funky character? I hope not... This photo? Taken as I headed back to the car after a long walk, typical of the storm clouds that have been hanging around all day, this old building (an old mill I think?) has sat abandoned for as long as I remember Also today in Inglewood, I stopped by Reid's antiques/collectibles shop... Checked out some of his newest selection of vintage photos (including a very cool WW1-era group photo of a fire brigade crew with their truck, nice large photo), and had a good chat with him...
