Just hanging around Rochelle, IL one afternoon back in October of 1983, my buddy Jim and I were the only ones there. We heard the one-note horns off to the east and couldn't believe our luck. The CNW 401 leading another F7 on a four-car train. Now with the internet, you usually know when the business cars are moving around long before you head out. That wasn't the case back then.

Ho hum, just another BN intermodal circa 1986. BN Chicago-Seattle piggyback #3 rattles the C&NW diamonds at Rochelle, IL from April of 1986 behind a trio of tiger-stripe GP50s spliced by a fuel tender. The BN 3144 leads the 3119 and 3111.
