The annual gaypride parade gathered as many as 800.000 in Paris Saturday, according to the organisers (600.000 according to the police). The people danced their way from Montparnasse to place de la Bastille, where the party continued. This year, ten months before the presential elections next year, their slogan, pour l'égalité en 2007!, put focus on the right for gay couples to be lawfully married and on the right to adopt.

The Bastille was behind me, and that's 'was' in the sense of 'used to be' as I could find no trace, although I didn't search the roundabout too hard. The station shown above no only curves round the the roundabout, but is built over the canal basin.
