Ptuj

Ptuj (German: Pettau; Latin: Poetovio) is a city and one of 11 urban municipalities in Slovenia. It is situated in Lower Styria (northeastern Slovenia), and has about 20,000 inhabitants.

Ptuj has one of the best-preserved and well presented castles in Slovenia. The displays inside vary wildly and include rooms with period furniture, displays on local music, the ubiquitous weaponary section and a wonderful display on traditional dress-up costumes including the magnificent Kurent.
