Dear friends, I really enjoy my break and will probably continue it a little bit.... :-) But, I could not resist to post something today... :-) Here is a real scene of an old wash house (build in 1830 and closed in 1970), with only the facade on the second floor, and probably on the first one too. I also have read that this place was moved from the number 3 to number 9, of the street (Cotte street, Paris 11). This facade is located close to the popular Aligre market. Will check the history of this today... Just wanted to say, that I was so happy to discover this place, as it became rare to find such insolite things in the city nowdays. A lot of old areas were rebuild or renovated last years. Technically speaking, I must say that you have only a very little angle to shoot this and see a little bit the opposite side of the facade. Thanks to the 10mm... :-) I also choosed to change the sky ( radial blur) and modify the tons to give a dramatic atmosphere and accentuate the focus on the opposite side of the facade... The HDR also helped to give this dramatic aspect. Hope you have a wonderful day! :-)

this incredible building is located on daumesnil avenue in Paris 12, very near of the gare de lyon (railways station). there is a total of 12 statues (7 on the side you see here, and 5 on another side of the building). Because the sky was really bad when I shooted this building and consequently giving a poor contrast with the statues, I changed it. And I used to add 6 layers on the windows, for having the same reflected sky as the new one. I choosed to apply them one by one, because torsions to do are different with the different angles of those windows at the corner. there is always a bit of PS in my pics LOL Wish to all a cool sunday :-))
